Jesse Carsten (he/they) is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, poet, musician, mythologist, and psychospiritual intuitive based in Portland, Oregon. He currently offers tarot readings and dreamwork sessions remotely and with joy! He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Pacifica exploring the cosmic jazz musician Sun Ra's personal mythology. At the core of Jesse's work is the belief in the deep power of the psyche, the guidance of dreams, the force of language and poesis, and the revelatory capabilities of mythic consciousness. Jesse has shown performance work at Links Hall, the Art Institute of Chicago, Reed College Arts Week and, with Midnight Variety Hour, at Performance Works Northwest. He has recorded, toured, and released records under the musical moniker Half Shadow since 2012; their album Dream Weather Its Electric Song, released in October of 2019, received wonderful reviews. His most recent book of poetry was published by Hassla Press, NYC in collaboration with the photographic works of B. Ingrid Olsen.
